Terms of Service & Liability Limits Last Updated: June 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By engaging Couriva Courier (“Couriva,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for any delivery, pickup, or logistics service, you (“Client,” “you,” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Couriva Courier, operating from 4204 148th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98087. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Provided
Couriva Courier provides local and regional courier, delivery, and logistics services including but not limited to Same Day & Express Delivery, On-Demand & Scheduled Delivery, Medical, STAT & Emergency Courier, Cold Chain & Temperature-Controlled Delivery, After Hours & Overnight Delivery, Appointment & Window Delivery, and Flex Timing & Routine Route Delivery. Services are available across Washington (WA), Alaska (AK), Idaho (ID), Oregon (OR), and Utah (UT).
3. Booking & Confirmation
All service requests must be submitted via our online Schedule a Pick-up form or by direct contact with our dispatch team. A booking is not confirmed until the Client receives written or verbal confirmation from Couriva dispatch. Couriva reserves the right to decline any service request at its sole discretion. For STAT and emergency services, verbal confirmation by dispatch constitutes a binding agreement.
4. Pricing & Payment
Pricing is determined based on service type, distance, package weight, and handling requirements. All quotes are provided prior to service confirmation. Couriva maintains a transparent pricing policy — no hidden fees or undisclosed charges will be applied without prior Client consent. Payment terms are agreed upon at the time of booking. Corporate accounts may be subject to net payment terms as outlined in a separate Service Agreement. Couriva reserves the right to update pricing with reasonable notice to existing clients.
5. Liability Limits
Couriva Courier operates with comprehensive commercial cargo liability insurance. However, our liability is subject to the following limitations. Couriva’s maximum liability for any single shipment shall not exceed the lesser of the actual declared value of the shipment, or $500 USD per shipment unless additional coverage is arranged in writing prior to pickup. Couriva shall not be held liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, natural disasters, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, loss or damage resulting from improper packaging by the Client, perishable goods not properly labeled or packaged for transport, consequential, indirect, or punitive damages of any kind, or items prohibited under Section 7 of these Terms. Clients shipping items valued above $500 USD must declare the value in writing at the time of booking and arrange appropriate supplemental insurance coverage. For temperature-controlled shipments, Couriva’s liability is limited to maintaining equipment within agreed temperature ranges. Couriva is not liable for product degradation caused by pre-existing conditions prior to pickup.
6. Client Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for ensuring all items are properly packaged and labeled before pickup, providing accurate pickup and delivery addresses, ensuring a responsible party is present at pickup and delivery locations unless otherwise agreed, declaring the accurate value and nature of all shipments, and notifying Couriva of any special handling requirements at booking. Failure to fulfill these responsibilities may result in service delays, refusal of pickup, or limitation of Couriva’s liability.
7. Prohibited Items
Couriva will not transport the following items under any circumstances: illegal substances or contraband, firearms, ammunition, or weapons, hazardous materials not disclosed at time of booking, live animals, human remains without appropriate permits and prior written agreement, cash, currency, or negotiable instruments above $100 USD, and items requiring DEA, FDA, or other federal permits without prior written authorization. Couriva reserves the right to refuse, return, or report any shipment found to contain prohibited items.
8. Proof of Delivery
Couriva utilizes DeTrack delivery management software to generate electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) for every completed shipment. Proof of delivery includes recipient name and signature, delivery timestamp, GPS location confirmation, and photo documentation where applicable. ePOD records are available to Clients through the Couriva client portal or upon written request within 30 days of delivery.
9. Cancellations & Modifications
Cancellations made more than 2 hours before scheduled pickup will incur no charge. Cancellations made within 2 hours of scheduled pickup may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted service rate. Same-day and STAT bookings cancelled after driver dispatch will be charged the full service rate. Route or address modifications after driver dispatch may incur additional charges based on distance and time impact.
10. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, the Client agrees to first contact Couriva directly to seek resolution before pursuing legal action. All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any unresolved disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in Snohomish County, Washington, in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules. The prevailing party in any arbitration or legal proceeding shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney’s fees.
11. Modifications to Terms
Couriva reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Clients will be notified of material changes via email or through a notice on our website. Continued use of our services following any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
